PRIVATE THEATRE SHOWCASE

For those of us who miss the theatricality that's absent from today's cinemas, and dream of having their very own theatre, places like this give us something amazing and real to wish for...

One of our favorite trends began when the art director for American Heritage magazine transformed the basement of his Brooklyn brownstone into a fully designed, dedicated theatre.  He called it The Roxy, after the legendary lost Manhattan movie palace, and it began to get a lot of attention in the media.

The Roxy was written up in several publications, including the New York Times, and Entertainment Tonight sent a video crew to take footage of this amazing space, and interview the man who created it.

He began getting serious requests from people who wanted him to create such a theatre for them.

His subsequent theatre designs got larger and more elaborate, and the requests kept coming.

So he left the magazine and started his own company to create high-quality private theatres.

His many clients have included celebrities, business people, private citizens and a major theme park.

His stylish theatre designs feature elegance and comfort.

His theatres have often been featured in Architectural and Home Theatre magazines.

A handsome, hardcover coffee table book featuring several of his theatre designs was published...

...and completely sold out.  It now sells occasionally online from private collectors.

A second book featured entire environments around theatre projects, and a third book is in the works.

Aside from the books, his work has not been seen in enough detail and size to do it justice.

While the public sees movies in a dull multiplex, some lucky people enjoy their own movie palace.

Dedicated theatre spaces are limited only by imagination, available space and budget.

There now are numerous companies that design and build private theatres in many regions.

While the man who started the trend spends most of his time literally flying all over the world...

...to oversee some of the most amazing, elaborate and opulent private theatres you'll never get a ticket to.
